Fluorine / Fluoride

Toothpaste tablets with fluoride

Toothpaste with fluoride is a prerequisite for strong and healthy teeth. Fluoride helps prevent caries and repairs the tooth surface in a way that no other substance can achieve. Gumpearl avoids many of the additives commonly found in dental care products, which are downright unnecessary or unethical. But keeps the recommended fluoride content as it is fluoride that works for good oral health. The toothpaste tablets are portioned with the right amount of fluoride per tooth brushing and in this way you give yourself good conditions for strong and healthy teeth.

Why is fluoride in toothpaste important?

First of all, it is important to know the difference between fluoride and fluorine, although it is often the latter term that is mentioned. Fluoride is an ion that is used in dental care products and is completely harmless. Fluoride is a toxic gas that is not used in toothpaste products. Thus, the presence of fluoride in toothpaste and dental care products is not the least bit dangerous for you or the environment.

Fluoride's role in dental care products is to counteract caries and strengthen teeth to better resist caries attack and has been used for over 70 years. When you eat or drink things that contain sugar and carbohydrates, bacteria on the tooth surface form an acid that in turn breaks down the tooth enamel. This can cause holes in the teeth, also called caries. To counteract this, we need to add fluoride directly to the tooth surface and thus both mend and strengthen the teeth to better resist caries.

Toothpaste tablets with fluoride for children

Of course, Gumpearl also has toothpaste tablets for children, these with strawberry flavor. In accordance with the recommendations of the Swedish Dental Association, these contain 1000ppm fluoride and thus give the child good conditions for strong and healthy teeth both now and in adulthood. The reason that children's toothpaste contains a smaller dose of fluoride is that the risk of the toothpaste being swallowed is greater in children. Especially for children under 6.

Recommended by the Swedish Dental Association

The Swedish Dental Association recommends a fluoride content of 1450ppm for adults and 1000ppm for children. They also refer to the 2x2x2 routine; two centimeters of toothpaste on the toothbrush that you brush for two minutes, twice a day. In this way, you have given yourself the dose of fluoride needed for strong and healthy teeth.

Gumpearl toothpaste tablets are portioned so that you get the right amount of fluoride per tooth brushing, in each tablet. Therefore, only one toothpaste tablet is needed per tooth brushing to meet the recommendation.

Gumpearl toothpaste tablets are therefore recommended by the Swedish Dental Association. It also means that you don't have to compromise with either your dental health or your environmental impact.

Toothpaste tablets that give you strong & healthy teeth

By brushing your teeth with Gumpearl toothpaste tablets, you get the caries prevention effect you need for good oral health, while leaving a greener footprint. It is also important that you do not eat or drink anything after brushing your teeth so that the fluoride ion has time to crystallize and attach to the tooth surface.

That our products are recommended by the Swedish Dental Association is a confirmation of this.
